Infrastructure before the robot
Jungle Mystery Parcl is an independent information website about autonomous underwater inspection. We write for asset owners, inspection planners and technically curious readers who need to distinguish an impressive operation from a useful inspection result.
Our organising question is simple: what evidence would justify the next decision? That question connects mission planning, navigation, sensor choice and review. It also makes operational limits and missing information part of the story rather than a footnote.
Our editorial method
We separate observation, interpretation and action. We avoid treating manufacturer specifications as achieved field performance. Where we describe a standard, we identify its purpose without suggesting that mentioning it establishes compliance. Applicable editions, asset context and contractual obligations must be checked by the responsible team.
Our pull quotes are attributed editorial principles, not statements presented as interviews with unnamed specialists. Context photographs are not evidence of a particular inspection, measured condition or product capability. We do not publish fabricated field results or imply that the journal has inspected the assets shown.
Useful technical writing leaves the reader better able to ask what is missing.
Reference discipline
The articles draw attention to recognised bodies and publications, including ISO, API, ASME, DNV, IHO and IMCA. Research organisations such as the National Oceanography Centre, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute provide context for underwater systems. Mentioning these organisations does not indicate endorsement, affiliation or a review of this website.
Standards are often licensed publications. Our summaries do not reproduce their requirements and are not substitutes for access to the relevant documents. Consult official catalogues, the current applicable edition and qualified professional advice before incorporating any requirement into an inspection specification.
Scope and corrections
This journal is educational. It does not provide an inspection certificate, a safety case, a fitness-for-service determination or project-specific engineering instructions. Field decisions require competent people with access to the actual asset, operating conditions and applicable rules.
If a statement needs correction, send the page title, the passage and a supporting reference. Avoid sending confidential asset drawings, security-sensitive locations or personal information that is not necessary to explain the issue.
